A minibus operating on Route 56 was involved in a collision with a girder of Metro Line 12, resulting in multiple injuries. 



The incident took place on Wednesday, January 22, 2025, at the intersection of Tláhuac Avenue and Pirules Street in the Iztapalapa municipality of Mexico City. 


The crash occurred in the early morning hours, with witnesses reporting that the minibus driver appeared to be "racing" another vehicle, leading to a loss of control and a direct impact with the concrete structure.


Emergency responders from the Iztapalapa mayor's office, along with personnel from the Secretariat of Citizen Security (SSC), arrived promptly to manage the situation and assist those affected.


The outcomes for the passengers varied:


Some were able to exit the vehicle independently.

Others required medical assistance at the scene.


The damaged minibus was removed from the site and parked along Tláhuac Avenue. Despite its condition, it was not taken to the impound lot, raising questions among onlookers.


The driver remained at the scene under the supervision of SSC officers, who will continue their investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding the accident.
