Illinois Fighting Illini center Tomislav Ivisic will not play against the Maryland Terrapins in basketball.

The Illinois Fighting Illini men's basketball team will be missing starting center Tomislav Ivisic for their Big Ten Conference matchup against the Maryland Terrapins on Thursday night. According to the Big Ten availability report released Thursday evening, Ivisic has been designated as "out." This marks the first game of the season that Ivisic will not participate in.

Additionally, starting forward Tre White and reserve guard Will Riley have been listed as "questionable" for the game. Reports from the Illinois radio broadcast indicate that Ivisic, White, and Riley are all experiencing illness.

The game between the Maryland Terrapins and the Illinois Fighting Illini is set to begin at 9 p.m. ET/8 p.m. CT.

While the availability report did not specify the reason for Ivisic's absence against Maryland, Illinois head coach Brad Underwood mentioned on Sunday that Ivisic had been playing through strep throat during the Illini's 80-78 defeat to Michigan State. "Tommy feels terrible, and I mean really terrible," Underwood stated on Sunday regarding Ivisic's condition.

"It was a tough effort for him to play through strep throat. He has been on antibiotics for three days and is feeling quite unwell."

In the game against Michigan State, Ivisic logged 28 minutes, contributing 13 points, five assists, and four rebounds."He was exhausted," Underwood remarked about Ivisic's performance on Sunday, explaining the decision to limit his minutes. "He was struggling to breathe.

His tonsils are in bad shape, and he woke up this morning saying, 'I can't breathe.'"

East Bengal faced a challenging match, ultimately succumbing to the formidable Goa.

Ranked No. 17 in The Associated Press poll, Illinois enters the game with a record of 13-5 overall and 5-3 in the Big Ten. Meanwhile, the Maryland Terrapins come into the contest with a 14-5 overall record and a 4-4 mark in the Big Ten, under the leadership of head coach Kevin Willard.
